CLIMATE ISSUES AND CARBON FOOTPRINT MANAGEMENT

The prelude to any project focusing on the decarbonisation of the company is a conscious decision by key people in the company. Their approach – focusing only on formal requirements or seeing the real risks associated with a carbon footprint – determines the course of the entire project and the benefits for the company. That is why, in the first stage of any project of this type, we focus on workshops, analyses and education involving a broad cross-section of management – including those responsible for technological processes.

Failure to manage the carbon footprint cuts the company off from low-cost financing, lowers its position in rankings and ratings relevant to investors and risks excluding key business partners from its supply chains.

Our offer includes:

  • Counting the carbon footprint in scope 1, 2 and 3
  • Training and implementation of tools to support the carbon footprint calculation
  • Development of decarbonisation policies and strategies

Our work with clients involves experts with experience in advising both smaller entities and large, diversified groups with assets in Poland and abroad. We have at our disposal a wide range of tools supporting data aggregation and processing – both proprietary and offered in cooperation with our partners – technology companies developing specialised software. We give our clients a choice of methodologies, including the most popular and globally used GHG Protocol. The results of our work are calculation reports containing process descriptions and data that enable the development of relevant indicators in accordance with the CSRD.

Decarbonisation strategies and policies

The carbon footprint calculation is just a diagnosis and an introduction to the complex process that is decarbonisation. It involves both in-house and supply chain processes. We have a team with engineering competence capable of identifying emission sources and technical solutions with not only environmental but also economic benefits. We analyse our clients’ assets, production processes and technologies. We identify the necessary steps to educate suppliers and prepare them for the enlarged scope of requirements. We help communicate progress on decarbonisation to the market, including key business partners.

LCA and the carbon footprint of products

Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) or the calculation of the carbon footprint of products is increasingly influencing the decisions of business partners such as retail chains and component buyers (automotive, machinery, etc.). Companies neglecting to monitor the environmental footprint of their products and services will soon have serious competitive problems. We provide a full service for the preparation of analyses – for individual products as well as their series. We take into account raw material sourcing, production, distribution, use and disposal. We identify areas where changes have a positive impact on performance.
